Taking Stock; Again.
Micro-projects for the new year! It's so good to be back!!
Hello dear ones!
Perhaps, you are full of brilliant and beautiful ideas [you are] and dreams and projects and art you want to make for this brilliant and beautiful and dreamy and artful world [you do]; and perhaps, like me, and so many others, you struggle to make the connection from idea to incarnation— from the dream in your brain to the dream in real life?
Then I would say you are among great company! Lately I have been sharing multitudes of conversations about dreaming, doing, and making with friends, neighbors, and family. I feel a part of a larger pulse that does not want computer-generated everything and yearn for authenticity in an era of artifice. I feel as though I want to make more, create more, dream more, write more, do more but have such a backlog of project ideas and thoughts that sometimes I don’t know where to start!
I feel this overwhelm often actually, which is one reason I keep working at this newsletter! I don’t want this to be something of overwhelm, but rather a habit and a ritual as a way to catalogue, share, and archive my life.
And so tonight, I tried a new idea: I set a 2 hour timer and sought to finish this newsletter project.
I’ve got about 12 minutes left* before my 2.5 hour timer goes off and I’ll head to bed, but I am proud of myself for whipping up a project start to finish and feel inspired about crafting more time-contained projects! Little by little by little is a lot, Leila Chatti told me.
So here’s a lot of the little:
PS given the nature of this newsletter containing many images, it might be best to click in your email the option to view in browser, as most email services won’t deliver such a big file size (a good move on everyone’s end). If you’re having trouble doing that, send me a reply to this email and I can help ya out!
