Happy Equinox my dearest loved ones!

In some ways I hear myself saying, “how did we get here already?!” and in other, quieter, conversations I notice myself saying, “Yes, yes. We have arrived.”

All of this living is inevitable, I reminded myself and my younger brother on our weekly phone call today as we took a moment to celebrate the Equinox and acknowledge how incredible it is to be growing in this moment.

And in the same breath, I am saying holy shit over and over. (And listening to this song by Father John Misty…. over and over:)

But as I mentioned in my last missive, I do believe that JOY and LIFE and LIVING are the most powerful antitheses we can conjure to a system that is leaching off of our siloed realities.

And so, I want to share my life with you. Particularly, this last week in Charleston.

Here’s my postcards to you— because the truth is every good time I get to experience is an experience of every good time I’ve gotten to share with you. How lucky we are to share such a beautiful life; especially amidst all this!

Exploring the marshes, martime forests, wetlands, and beach was by far my favorite part of our trip down to the greater Charleston area! Eli snapped this picture of me (taking a picture of my first Carolina beach) while we were on Edisto Island.
When we weren’t walking around wild and natural places, we spent our days putting in MILES around downtown Charleston! The highlight was having our dear friends Alec and Blake join us for a day of ooing and awwing at all the beautiful blooms and buildings.
Admittedly, we ate a lot of food on this trip— not all fried seafood, but yeah, a lot of fried seafood! Eli and I are wonderful travel companions because we have the same taste in eats, so we were able to visit quiet a few stops on our food tour by opting for more progressive meals and sharing one entree or two small plates as we went.. highlights included: hummingbird cake, okra stew, pistachio chevre spread, my first softshell crab, and nothing more decadent than getting deals on the fresh, local, oysters! If you’re ever going to Charleston there’s a few places I can’t recommend enough!!

This vacation to Charleston was exhilarating, relaxing, inspiring, and filling! Please do always let me know if you find yourself in the greater ACE Basin, for I would love to come and meet you there! Despite the textbook perfect vacation, there was no better feeling than coming back home…

till next time!

XO,

Kenz (plus some bonus pics!!)
